Because not all personnel will be available for an in-person meeting, video tools can still grant hiring managers insight into how an employee truly looks and acts. “Video conferencing allows hiring managers to conduct a visual and verbal assessment of the candidate, which is particularly useful for those who have a long journey to navigate.”

Expanding options and budgets
Businesses have a greater ability to procure and implement video tools, according to Computerworld, which has been a major factor in promoting greater adoption of these services. In the past, prohibitively expensive products and services made these solutions an enterprise-only option, but now the price of these assets is decreasing to a point where all organizations can see the benefit in owning and utilizing them. Especially in the hiring department, the benefits can be far-reaching when used in tandem with talent management, training, incentive compensation and engagement initiatives.

As Computerworld stated, roughly one-third of all hiring administrators and HR leaders have seen the positive impact the video for business can render, especially in terms of hiring. While these recruitments are still mostly limited to domestic personnel, there are clear signs that international employees could soon be a regular addition to many organizations.

The scope of corporate interests has already begun to expand into the global theater, with cloud and mobile applications taking workforce reach and productivity to all new levels.
