Pritzkers Expand to Large and Late-stage Technology Investing

New World Ventures renamed Pritzker Group Venture Capital

CHICAGO, October 15, 2013 – Pritzker Group, the investment firm led by Tony and J.B. Pritzker, today announced its technology venture capital arm, New World Ventures, is expanding to include larger and later-stage opportunities and will now be known as Pritzker Group Venture Capital. With operations in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, the firm now has a national platform for early- through late-stage investing in rapidly growing technology companies.

“Building on the early-stage investment success of New World Ventures, Pritzker Group Venture Capital is now a truly national firm that can fund companies at every stage of their growth,” said J.B. Pritzker, co-founder and managing partner of Pritzker Group. “We are seeing great later-stage opportunities that need additional capital and can benefit from the guidance of our venture partners such as the former CEOs of Walmart.com, Sonic Solutions and NDS.”

“We have some of the strongest investors and operators in the country, with decades of experience building market-leading companies,” said Tony Pritzker, co-founder and managing partner of Pritzker Group.

Founded 18 years ago as New World Ventures, Pritzker Group Venture Capital has become the largest technology venture investor based in the Midwest. The firm has recently completed late-stage investments in IO, the Phoenix-based global leader in softwaredefined data centers; SMS Assist, the Chicago-based technology company transforming the facilities maintenance industry; and Boston-based Fleetmatics, the innovative fleet tracking company that went public last year.

“We think it makes sense to align ourselves more closely with the Pritzker name, which not only founded the firm but is also the source of our capital,” said Chris Girgenti, managing partner of Pritzker Group Venture Capital.
